| I was watching Edge vs Regal at WWF Vengeance
and was scared for a second because it looked like Regal might actually win…
Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate Regal, I just don’t think he is fit to wear
a belt held by some of the best the business have ever known… So I thought I would
compile a list of these IC champs just to Make Regal look bad… So here goes! (note
people like The Rock, Stone Cold and HBK deserve to be in here… but I would rather
look at them as all time great heavyweight champs than IC Champs) 10. Ravishing Rick Rude (Deceased) How good was the ravishing one! His feud for the IC belt with the Ultimate warrior was one of the greatest of all times… His work on the mike is what set him aside from the pack though… they sure don’t make them like Rick Rude anymore. 9. Double J Jeff Jarrett Was a great heel champ in the late 90’s in the WWF, If you want to see Double J in a great IC match check out In Your House 2 where he taken on HBK. 8. Christian I bet you didn’t see Christian Making this list! Lets face it he takes the best bumps in the business and deserved this title more than anyone. 7. Mr Perfect Very entertaining wrestler… He certainly did the belt justice when he held it. Curt’s matches were classics in the early 90’s especially his feud with Randy Savage. 6. Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat Ricky the Dragon was one of my idols as a kid… He did more for that belt than Trish Stratus did for breast implants. If you don’t know how good he is check out Wrestlemania 3 when he took on Macho Man Randy Save for the IC belt… it’s one of the all time greatest. 5. Rowdy Roddy Piper I can’t still remember the night he won the IC title at Royal Rumble 1992 it’s etched in my mind permanently. He beat the crap out of that tryhard Mountie to win the belt and then went on to almost win the Rumble! 4. Davey Boy Smith You may not like this guy but he sure was a legend to the title. You don’t have to go far to find a classic Bulldog IC match… my personal favourite was Summerslam 1992 against the Hitman… pure gold! 3. Owen Hart (deceased) Words can’t describe how really good Owen was in that ring. Watching Owen was always an experience! He never officially won "the big one" so he appreciated the IC title more than anyone did… If you haven’t seen Owen in action I recommend ANY of his matches. 2. The Honky Tonk Man The self proclaimed greatest intercontinental champion of all time… came pretty close to actually being just that! He held the belt for a record 18 months (which is longer than most wrestlers careers nowadays) What he lacked in wrestling skills he more than made up for on the mike… A very funny guy and a great champ. 1. The Bad Guy Razor Ramon While Razor didn’t hold the belt for as long as Honky Tonk Man… He held it way more times than him.
