| Dancin Lukeys 2001 Awards! |
| Most Exciting Move:
Shane McMahons Van Terminator on Vince at Wrestlemania. Sure it wasnt original
but it impressed me to see Shane pull it off! Best Technician: As far as technical wrestling goes, No one impressed me more this year than Kurt Angle continues to come leaps and bounds in the squared circle. Best Wrestler on Interviews: Well its been Stone Colds Year once again on the mike. Steve Austin especially in the later half of the year pulled off some of the most memorable segments and showed us why he is still at the top of the heap. Most Improved Wrestler: Christian, The so called Marty Jannety of the team continues to leave Edge in his shadow as far as entertaining matches and interviews go, Christian is the best bumper in the WWF and is finally getting some of the respect he deserves. Most Over Rated Wrestler: The Big Show. Work Harder dammit! Most Under Rated Wrestler: Crowbar, After seeing him in action at WWA Superstars 2 I have to ask the question why is this guy not in the WWF? Best Angle: Kurt hahahahahaha That is the funniest Joke ever. Ok maybe not, Best Angle would have to be Extreme Championship Wrestling joining up with World Championship Wrestling to form the alliance. A great moment for real wrestling fans everywhere. Worst Angle: Eric Hahahahaha you think I would get sick of making these bad "Angle" jokes but no they still rock! The worst wrestling Angle would definitely have to be Vince and Lindas Divorce antics! I mean really who cares? Best Gimmick: The Hurricane, Mild Mannered reporter by day, Superhero by night not exactly original but still very amusing! Worst Gimmick: DDP, Well you got voted worst gimmick of the year but thats not a good thing its a bad thing! Best Feud: Edge and Christian. To quote an in your house name "Good friends, better enemies" These two put on some great matches and believe me when I say its sure isnt over! Worst Match: The Gimmick Battle Royal at Wrestlemania. It was almost unbearable to see these guys out of their prime. Even funny comments from bobby heanan couldnt save this one for sucking more than Monica Lewinski in the oval office. Best Match: TLC at Wrestlemania, The Duddley's, Hardys and Edge and Christian with the assistance of Rhyno, Spike Duddley and Lita pulled of another awesome match up! Best Promotion: Well seeing as Explosive Coastal Wrestling isnt up for this award I will have to go with the WWF. Favourite Event: Royal Rumble. I dont know why but it always holds the most excitement for me. Also Hats off to Kane for doing as well as he did in the 2001 Rumble there is a guy who just doesnt get enough Credit! Best Announcer: Jerry Lawler, I had the chance to speak with Jerry when he was in Perth and he is a genuine nice guy. The WWF was wise to hire him back he is very amusing and accurate behind the mike. Best Manager/Valet: Lita she is the only manager left who actually helps her team occasionally. Best Tag Team: The Duddleys win this one due to lack of competition. They have had a good year and although its mostly gone unnoticed they have really accomplished a lot this year in the WWF. Worst Wrestler: William Regal I think Vince may have finally found a cure for Insomnia! Best Wrestler/s: This one was hard to decide on I judged it on character, Mike skills and who has put on the most entertaining matches this year So here it is Dancin Lukeys Top Five best Wrestlers of 2001: 5) The Rock: Had a lot of time off to deal with movies and babies. But still had a great year. He worked hard and main evented another Wrestlemania. He is still one of the funniest on the mike and when he wants to be can be great in the ring. 2002 will be a good year for the great one! 4) Jericho: Came back from a few bad performances early in the year and some bad booking (William Regal at Wrestlemaina) to become the first undisputed WWF Champion. Also pulled out some excellent matches in the second half of 2001 and as always, cuts the best promos! 3) Christian: Started the year out as one half of the best Tag team finished it as one of the most impressive singles stars winning not only the European championship but the Intercontinental as well. He never slacks off and always gives a great performance. He finishes off this year with an impressive reign as European Champion but its only a matter of time before the Intercontinental is back around his waist! 2) Stone Cold: Didnt take any where near as much time off as he should have this year and wrestled on countless occasions with injury. He won the big one (again) and held it for an impressive streak. Continues to dominate on the mike and work hard in the ring Stone cold deserves recognition! 1) RVD: Yes he has come a long way baby and RVD has finally made the big time. His matches have all be five star, His energy level and excitement is through the roof and if given the opportunity RVD will be the next big thing because after all "Everythings cool when youre RVD" Email : dancinlukey@ecwperth.com |
