Dancin Lukey's No Way Out Hit and Miss List… or as it should be known, the Miss and Miss list
HITS:

The nWo promo at the start… very fun and very entertaining! The only problems with it were the annoying black and white FX as they walked to the ring and Kevin Nash’s lack of entertainment! Scott Hall and Hogan nailed their promo’s (especially Hall) and were very funny and just plain cool… Now Nash however forgot to eat his Charisma pills and delivered a promo of Michael Cole standards… that’s not the Nash I remember!

Tag Team Turmoil – A great match that saw Scotty & Albert vs Christian and Lance Storm vs The Hardys vs The Duddleys vs Chuck & Billy vs The APA. Very entertaining! A nice return from The Hardys and good to see Christian finds a way onto the PPV… Weird finish though! In the end it was The APA that beat Chuck and Billy with a KILLER clothesline from Hell… nice one Bradshaw!

Winners and number one contenders for Wrestlemania – The APA

Austin’s promo backstage with the nWo at this stage I was still unsure what the nWo were playing at but it became more apparent as they attempted to befriend Austin with Beer. I don’t know call me old-fashioned but I just don’t find it believable that Scott Hall could ever give away beer! A nice spot that helped get my attention back on the ppv.

Match 3: Tag Titles: Tazz and Spike vs. Booker T and Test – Not a bad match… not great but certainly not worthy of a Miss. Spike bumped like a champ and Tazz reverted to his thug like ways and hooked on the Tazmission for a win! Nice finish to a pretty average match but hey who cares because…

Winners and STILL tag team champions – Tazz and Spike

Rock and nWo chat backstage… This for me was the best part of the PPV. I was depressed and annoyed at Uncle Vince until the Rock came out with some CLASSIC put downs on the nWo to put them in there place… very funny segment that stopped this PPV from being a complete waste!

MISSES:

Goldust vs. Rob Van Dam – Well this one on paper was going to be great… however in the transition it became… well very average! RVD ended up getting the win after a painfully long 20 minutes and a lot of blown spots!

Winner Via 5 Star Frog Splash: RVD

Match 4: IC Title, Brass Knuckles on a Pole: Edge vs. William Regal – I don’t know what I did to upset god but he punished me for it with this match! Why is Regal the Champ? Why? Why are they recycling Ken Shamrocks "I’m unstable and beat up on Refs while also spitting up blood a lot" gimmick on Pretty boy Edge? I guess there are three things in life that are certain Death, Taxes and really crap William Regal matches:

Winner and unfortunately Still WWF IC Champ – Willy Regal

Match 5: The Rock vs. The Undertaker – It had the potential to be decent… but it wasn’t! A 5-minute bear hug from the undertaker was one of the high points of the match! What made it worse is that Ric Flair interfered and that unfortunately pretty much ensures an Undertaker vs Flair match at mania… I can’t wait for that treasure!

Winner: The Rock

Match 6: HHH vs. Kurt Angle w/ Special Guest Referee: Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley – The highlight of this match was that I noticed during this match that Screech (Dustin Diamond) from Saved by the Bell was sitting behind the Spanish announcers! And it appears I wasn’t the only one to notice as a faint "Screech" chant broke out during this match that almost brought a tear to my eye! Apart from that two words can be used to describe this match "AVERAGE" and "VERY" and not in that order.
Winner – Kurt Angle wins to become the Number 1 contender for Wrestlemania.

Match 7: Undisputed Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin – if this is any indication of what’s to come that I am REALLY not looking forward to "restholdmania" I think Jericho and Stone Cold put on a lazy display of Chop, Kick and Punch that would have Greg The Hammer Valentine turning in his grave (speaking of which Happy Greg Valentines day for last week) I just can’t believe this match was labelled "the main event" Anyway long story short:

Winner and STILL undisputed champ: Chris Jericho (with Help from the nWo)

Overall Grade: D-

Call me harsh or call me unfair but when the WWF has almost all the greatest wrestlers in the world under contact and they still put on jack average shows like this I have a right to be annoyed… lift your game Vince it’s embarrassing that the WWA with it’s $20 budget can put on a more entertaining house show than your PPV’s! I’m Dancin Lukey and that’s all I’ve got to say about that!
