| Collision Course - Fan's thoughts on Collision Course by ECWfan18 |
| Before the show, we had to wait
out in the bitter cold, which is unusual for Perth but it was okay because former ECW
commentator Slick Rick Sanders was at the front of the line with a megaphone. He was
screaming something about him needing the fans to get him re-hired or something. It made
the line wait go fast so I was happy. Apparently, there was some major technical problems before the show, so we had to wait for about half an hour which sucked. I felt this kinda killed the crowd a bit, and the Queens Park venue didn't seem to have the same atmosphere at Evolution at Wanneroo. Never the less, the ECW diehards were out in force and looking forward to a great event. Eventually, Dancin Lukey made his appearance and did a pre-show ramble before being cut off by the Uprising's music. Despite being probably the biggest heels in ECW, these guys do have many fans. I booed them but. Azazal got on the mic and cut a nasty promo, eventually telling fellow Uprising member Richter that if he didn't beat Jimmy Payne later on tonight, he would be out of the group. Azazal was getting major heat, even getting an 'Azazal's a wanker' chant. Azazal also mentioned the Vagrant and Jimmy Payne which got pops from the crowd. Mixer joined Dancin Lukey for commentary which seemed to please lots of girls in the crowd. Damien Kross and Anda Nothica were out first and had a pretty fast paced match to start the show. Nothica is really really tiny, put did really well against the much much bigger rookie Kross. Fans seemed to pop both men's moves, but went insane for Anda Nothica when he won the match with a massive 450 splash from the top rope. Awesome move! Justin Sane and Psychofett came out next, with the latter wearing an expensive coat and monicle? This match was funny, one of the best of the night. They traded comedic spots and brutal wrestling moves, even stopping to have a dance off in which Psychofett clearly won. After several killer moves, including a Reverse tombstone!, Justin Sane got the win with a second rope 'Fatal Attraction'. Crowd loved this match, and was one of the best of the night. The Vagrant got a massive pop as he entered the arena, surprising many by wearing shoes. His opponent was Jamie Jurah, but the crowd chanted 'Mixer's Bitch!" all through the match. Vagrant event stole a crowd member's sign which clearly said the Jurah was a bitch. This match was long, but throughly entertaining. Had awesome psychology and some brutal moves. The crowd was really into it, and had some great chants, like "choke the bitch" when Vagrant locked on a submission move and "The bitch is dead" when the People's Tramp nailed an awesome version of the Kryptonite Krunch. The match ended when Jurah hit Vagrant in the back with a steel chair, but the Chairman decided to make the match 'No DQ' and they continued fighting much to the delight of the crowd. Mixer got involved by snatching a chair from Jurah, but took nasty bump to the outside when Jamie hit the Mixing It Up and kicked a chair into his face. Jurah eventually won the match when he hit the Vagrant with an awesome move, looked like a spike pedigree kinda move. Vagrant looked legitmately knocked out at one point in the match, and Jamie Jurah really surprised me with his wrestling ability. Richter came out to a chorus of boos with his manager
Xeriyous Blade. Jimmy Payne, as usual, had all of the fans on their feet. This match was
pretty good, and noticeably stiff. Payne had some awesome moves, and it was great to see
them hit on a man thats 6'4". Eventually, Blade got involved and hit Richter
accidently, which led to a Gore and Payne Killer from Mr Anarchy. The intermission was long and boring, except for a heater capturing on fire. Referee Simon put it out with a fire extinguisher! Lukey returned and asked the fans if they liked the half time pyro show. Ha ha ha. Davis Storm's music hit and he came to the ring wearing a shiny shirt and the ECW title. He got in the ring and pretty much said he great he was, with the crowd disagreeing of course. Eventually, he said he wasnt going to defend the belt tonight, which dissappointed the crowd because Storm is a jerk, but an awesome wrestler. The Vagrant came out to a big pop and stood face to face with Storm. I had been waiting for this for ages! If Payne and Storm is the best ECW match, Vagrant and Storm is the best mic match! Vagrant had some great lines, teasing the match that Davis looked gay tonight. He pretty much told Storm to go backstage and get ready for a title match with Mixer, which made the crowd pop. Storm refused and then challenged an ECW trainee in the crowd? WTF? I think his name was Brad, but Storm called him Barney! The Vagrant left and Storm soon beat the trainee Brad, but not before Brad hit some pretty sweet moves. After the match, Storm hit Brad with the Eye of the Storm and joined Lukey at the commentary table. Storm looked gay, but wrestled a great match, as did Brad surprisingly. Anda Nothica made his return to the arena to a big pop as he would be the special referee for this next match. The girls cheered as Brock Freeman made his entrance and loved when he took off his shirt. Man, that guy is ripped. Azazal made his entrance to massive heat. These two guys had a great match, very stiff and had some awesome old school wrestling. Azazal hit his signature moves to pops from the many Uprising fans, but the crowd groaned when he put Brock in the tree of woe and stepped on his nuts! Ouch! Davis Storm had some great calls from the table, as did Lukey as usual. Brock Freeman took some nasty bumps in this match, doing a suicide dive outside to the hard floor and being powerslammed on the outside by Azazal. Eventually, Freeman hit a version of the DVD which dropped Azazal right on his head for the pin. Great match, both men worked the crowd well. Freeman just keeps getting better and Azazal is a heat machine. One of the best of the night. This was the main event for the Number 1 contendership for Storm's ECW tile. F.N Carnage made his appearance to a big pop and Mikey made his return to big crowd heat. The crowd was getting tired after a long night of wrestling but were definitely in this match, especially when Carnage and Mikey brawled through the crowd. Carnage hit an amazing second rope tornade snap suplex and Mikey is always on fire. This match was one of the very best in ECW history and just as Carnage nearly snapped Mikey's neck with a piledriver, Davis Storm interrupted the count. This brought out Jimmy Payne who went to Gore Mikey but accidently hit Carnage. Simon Cage DQ'ed Mikey and gave the match to the laid out Carnage. Mikey and Payne brawled backstage while Davis Storm got in the ring and basically challenged the fallen Carnage to a title shot right there and then. This brought out the Vagrant again and he was against the
challenge from Storm because Carnage had just wrestled a great match and was hurt. Carnage
on both knees called for the match to start and so it did, with him only to cop a harsh
knee to the face! Storm was all over Carnage as expected, but Carnage made a brief
comeback, much to the amazement of the crowd. However, Overall, an awesome wrestling show, but the production sucked. Also, the venue was too obscure and didn't suit wrestling. The new ECW shirts and hats looked great and I wear mine with pride. I cant wait for the next show, I hope it's at a place with a better atmosphere as Queens Park wasnt very good for wrestling. However, the ECW boys all had great matches with awesome moves and unpredictable finishes. Top 5 Heat: |
