| Evolution Pics - May 25th 2002 The night of May 11 2002 will be a night we will all remember for quite
sometime to come as Explosive Coastal Wrestling launched EVOLUTION in front of a sold out
crowd of more than 350 hot fans at the Wanneroo Civic Centre.
The night started with Dancin' Lukey and Slick Rick Sanders
quickly exchanging wardrobe insults before announcing the nights matches. Lukey then
introduced Mikey, who received a standing ovation and even the wrestlers of ECW formed a
Gaurd of Honour around the ring as Mikey was to make his retirement announcement. Before
he could get a word out, Davis Storm came to the ring with a barrage of insults for Mikey.
This brought out Mr Anarchy, Jimmy Payne, who let Davis know exactly what he thought of
him. The two men who would later fight for the ECW title starred down each other before
leaving the ring.
Azazal vs Anda Nothica
As expected, these two men threw out a great opening match with fast paced
action from start to finish. Azazal relentlessly worked on Anda Nothica's legs to avoid
the high flying attacks from his smaller but faster opponent. In the end, the Fallen Angel
proved to be too powerful and scored the 1,2,3. After the match, Azazal looked to break
Anda Nothica's leg when he set him up with a chair which brought Brock Freeman to the ring
to break up the action.
Winner : Azazal
The People's Tramp, The Vagrant then made his way to
ringside to a huge ovation from his many admiring fans. After saying hello to the crowd
the ECW Chairman announced he had a new secretary as he introduced Holly Ryder to a very
happy crowd. The Vagrant then joined Dancin' Lukey and Slick Rick at the commentary table.
Powerbomb Match : Richter vs Psychofett
This match was never going to be an easy task for Psychofett as he took on
the much larger Uprising member, Richter. To make matters worse, Richter was also joined
by the leader of the Uprising, Xerious Blade who continually got involved in the match on
Richter's behalf. In the end, it was Psychofett who scored the win with a huge powerbomb
from the top rope. After the match Xerious Blade was obviously upset with his fellow
Uprising member and he let Richter know exactly what he thought of his performance by
verbally tearing apart a beaten Richter.
Winner : Psychofett
Brock Freeman vs Justin Sane
For the many fans who attended REDEMPTION, we all saw the sparks fly when
Brock Freeman, who was doing guest commentary, got involved with Justin Sane as Justin
would not release the Restraining Order after the match had officially finished. This
match was dubbed the "grudge match" of the night for good reason as these 2 men
simply do not like each other. Freeman surprised Sane with his martial arts skills and
submission maneuvers but Justin kept finding the ropes to avoid tapping out. Justin fired
back when he slapped on the Restraining Order however Brock was able to reverse his
finishing move into another submission arm bar. Azazal ran down to ringside to interfere
on behalf of Justin however, Anda Nothica caught Azazal before he could make an impact in
the match. Back in the ring, Justin rolled up Brock, and with the help of 2 feet on the
middle rope, scored yet another big win!
Winner : Justin Sane
Seth & Shiggins vs Mixer and Shuriken
Seth and Shiggins came out first to a massive ovation from the fans which
quickly turned to boo's as Mixer made his way to ringside. Lukey then announced Shuriken
at 6' 6" and 330 pounds however, when the masked man made his way through the curtain
it was quite obvious that this was not Shuriken. Mixer looked just as surprised as the
crowd did but the match quickly got underway. Seth went straight for the mask of the
imposter who was revealed as Jamie Jurah, the crazed Mixer fan from REDEMPTION! The
Vagrant quickly got on the case of Jurah but when Jamie slapped the People's Tramp across
the face, he allowed the Suriken wannabe to compete in the match as he looked forward to
watching Seth and Shiggins destroy him in the ring. The match got started and it was
quickly evident that Mixer was more than displeased about having to tag with his crazed
fan. Seth and Shiggins worked as a well-oiled unit as they continually hammered Jamie
Jurah from one side of the ring to the other. After Jamie was finally able to make the tag
to Mixer, ECW fans got to witness a great match between fine young athletes. At one stage,
Mixer had the match won until Jamie Jurah decided to come into the ring and distract the
referee which led to the downfall of the team as Shiggins finished off Mixer with
bluethunder powerbomb. After the match, a frustrated Mixer tore apart Jamie Jurah and
invited the Vagrant to finished the job off. Mixer dragged Jamie to the corner and set up
a chair beside his face as the Vagrant climbed the rope in the opposite corner. The
Vagrant leapt from one side of the ring to the other, drop kicking the chair into Jamie
Jurah's skull to the delight of the fans at ringside.
Winner : Seth & Shiggins
After a short break, Dancin' Lukey returned to the ring for
a few spot prizes. He then introduced Holly Ryder back to the ring to help him with the
task. After giving away some prizes, Slick Rick interrupted the fun with the announcement
of the Slick Rick Challenge.
Slick Rick Challenge : F.N. Carnage vs Damian Cross
Slick Rick started off by challenging F.N. Carnage to a "Loser leaves
ECW' match! Carnage quickly accepted on the one condition that he have his good friend and
protegee at ringside as the special Ring Enforcer, Damian Cross. Slick agreed and then
told Dancin' Lukey to announce Carnage's opponent. When Slick Rick's music came out of the
speakers, Carnage smiled but then got nailed from behind as Damian Cross attacked and then
slapped the hand of Slick Rick. The match started and Carnage quickly recovered from the
sneak attack with a flurry of hard hitting moves that caught Damian off guard. Slick Rick
interfered as much as he possibly could in the match but Carnage would introduce Damian
Cross to his finishing maneuver, the Poetic Justice. As Carnage went for the pin, Slick
Rick broke up the three count which was probably the biggest mistake of the night as
Carnage caught Rick with a kick to the stomach. He then got a chair from ringside and
Piledrove Slick's head through it! Damian attempted another sneak attack but found himself
on the wrong end of another Poetic Justice. 3 counts later the match was over and Slick
Rick has to leave ECW forever.
Winner : F.N. Carnage
ECW Title Match : Jimmy Payne vs Davis Storm
This was the match that not only the fans were looking forward to but
everyone backstage as well. Davis Storm came to the ring first to a huge chorus of boo's
which quickly changed to cheers as Jimmy Payne made his way to ringside. The match began
quickly with neither man holding back. From the opening bell, both men exchanged move
after move after move in what was a true "wrestling" contest! The pace never
slowed but the moves became bigger and bigger with Payne delivering multiple T-Bone
Suplexes and Storm with a spring board bulldog and dropkick which sent Jimmy Payne
crashing through a table outside the ring!! Back in the ring, Davis caught Jimmy with his
patented finisher, The Eye of the Storm and the crowd went absolutely nuts, however Jimmy
kicked out at the last second and the match continued... Payne then returned the favour
with his own finisher, the Payne Killer but again, at the last second Storm got a shoulder
off the canvas before the count of three! After reversal after reversal, Davis finally set
up Jimmy Payne and hit him with a devastating "Rolling Storm" from the top
rope!! 3 short seconds later the match was over and Davis Storm became the first official
Explosive Coastal Wrestling Champion! Out of nowhere, Mikey returned to the ring and
looked ready for a fight. Mikey attempted to clothesline Storm but missed and it was Jimmy
Payne that felt Mikey's rage. Davis quickly went to the outside of the ring as Mikey
helped Jimmy back to his feet ... only to knock him back down with a huge Mikey kick to
the face! Storm returned to the ring and continued to beat down Payne as Mikey told the
fans of ECW exactly how bitter he truly was and how he really felt about ECW fans. The
Uprising then joined Storm and Mikey in the beating as all five men relentlessly pounded
away on a fallen Jimmy Payne. F.N. Carnage, the Vagrant and other ECW stars ran down to
the ring and it was an all out brawl in the middle of the ring. After the bodies starting
clearing from the ring it was Carnage and Storm left in the ring. Storm attempted to
attack Carnage but he ducked and struck Storm with the title belt. Carnage then set up
Storm in the middle of the ring as he climbed to the top rope and delivered a beautiful
moonsault on Davis Storm. Carnage held the belt above his head, standing over a beaten
Storm signifying that he had beaten the champion and he is coming after Storm.
Winner and New ECW Champion : Davis Storm
Explosive Coastal Wrestling would like to extend our thanks
to the fans who helped make the event the great success it was. |
