This was perhaps the most evenly matched up qualifying match. The two combatants had a quick fire exchange in the early going with neither able to gain a clear advantage. Freeman capatilised on a mistake by Kross and locked on a Fujiwara arm bar. Freeman would continue to return to the strategy of working on Damien’s arm during the match.

Kross fought back using his size to keep Brock down. A huge back suplex saw Freeman wrest the advantage back from his larger opponent. A flying kick from the top rope almost gave him the victory but Kross managed to kick out.

The referee recovered just in time to see another Krossfire attempt reversed into a fujiwara armbar for the submission victory for Brock. That win ensured him the third place in the tournament at Re-Awakening.
