Despite his lose to Jimmy Payne at Hell or Highwater, Sane had not been pinned in ECW competition this year. A victory in this match would secure him a spot in the main event at Re-Awakening.

Both men set a quick pace early on with Justin taking the early advantage with a suplex-gordbuster combo. The advantage would switch constantly in this bout. A Storm slingshot kneedrop didn’t keep Sane down for long and he hit a bottom rope jaw breaker and a face buster to reassume control.

A yakuza kick almost took Justin’s head off but again he was able to kick out. A top rope axhandle was reversed by Justin into the Restraining Order (single leg crab). However, as Justin went for an arm drag Storm reversed it into the Eye of the Storm. As Storm executed the move, his opponent intentionally mule kicked referee Brett Corvus in the groin. As Storm made the cover, Corvus called for Justin to be disqualified, thus keeping his unpinned streak alive.

Corvus attempted to talk to Sane but was met by a Fatal Attraction.
