| Davis Storm wins the battle .. but the war is far from over |
| The empty arena match that transpired on
Sunday the 24th February can be summed up in one word: Brutal. F.N. Carnage and
Davis Storm met in the squared circle one more time to decide who would face Jimmy Payne
in the main event of Evolution and become the Explosive Coastal Wrestling Champion. The idea behind an empty arena match for those who dont know is that basically "anything goes". There are no fans allowed, no fellow wrestlers, no disqualifications and pinfalls count anywhere. As the old cliché goes "The rules are, there are no rules". FN Carnage was all set for the match and just recording his pre match interview with Dancin' Lukey when out of nowhere Davis Storm attacked him from behind and with that, the match was underway. |
| Davis Storm continues to cheap shot FN
Carnage who seemed a little taken by surprise. But shortly after, Carnage mounted a
comeback and launched Davis Storm through the air onto a hard wood table which fortunately
for Davis Storm stood up to the impact from the blow. From this point the match finally
entered the ring and both men, as we all know, are technically sound and put on an
impressive performance which scored them a few near falls but no victory
what
happened after here though has to be seen to be believed. Storm and Carnage brawled all the way to the outside of the building! Before we knew it both men were throwing each other into the brick walls and brawling down the stairs to the cement paved floor outside. Next Davis took FN Carnage and attempted to knock him off the second storey onto the paving below luckily for Carnage he was able to reverse the move and back body drop Davis Storm over the railing and down onto the cold and very hard floor! |
| If that wasnt bad enough the match
continued through the parking lot and even onto the cricket pitch where two local kids
playing had their bat taken from them and used as a weapon as Davis Storm struck FN
Carnage repeatedly across the back and ribs. Through all of this both men struggled to
gain and keep the upper hand as they slowly made their way back to the arena. On the
way brutal move after brutal move scored near fall after near fall until both men wound up
right back where they started, in the ring! FN Carnage and Davis Storm knew after half an hour of getting thrown into brick walls, slammed on metal fences that they didnt have a lot left. So both men gave it all they had to try and finish the match once and for all and claim their spot as number one contender. FN Carnage somehow summoned the strength to lift Davis Storm up for an Outsiders Edge, it only scored a two count, but now Carnage knew he had Storm right where he wanted him and could finally put him away for the 3 count! |
| All of a sudden out of nowhere came Slick
Rick Sanders. He tore the championship belt from Dancin' Lukeys hand at ringside and
threw it to Storm. Davis then took the title and struck FN Carnage with it. He
followed it up with his devastating finisher, the Eye of the Storm, and 3 short counts
later Davis Storm was officially the winner and number 1 contender for the ECW title. Meanwhile, Dancin' Lukey entered the ring to check on Carnage. While in there he was blindsided by Davis Storm and also given Davis Storm's finisher, the Eye of the Storm! Dancin' Lukey was knocked out but, to add insult to injury, Davis Storm rolled him over and slapped his face as Slick Rick and Davis Storm insulted him and talked down to him then out of nowhere FN Carnage climbed to his feet, Davis and Slick Rick Sanders looked as if they had seen a ghost and then high tailed it as Carnage chased them outside. Of course, Slick Rick was prepared and even had a get away car set up so Davis Storm and Slick Rick fled off as fast as they could. It was all a big set up! Davis and Slick Rick are off somewhere laughing at the expense of FN Carnage and Dancin' Lukey but will they be laughing after Evolution in May when Davis Storm meets fellow number one contender Jimmy Payne to decide the first ever Official Explosive Coastal Wrestling title I guess time will tell. |
