ECW Perth one on one with the Extreme High Flyer, Jag
JagECWPerth.com: Jag, firstly for the Perth wrestling fans that have never heard of the 'Extreme High Flyer', can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Jag: Geez, right off the bat hey. Well for those who do not know who I am...I am a professional wrestler and trainer based in Adelaide, Australia. I have been wrestling for the past 5 years and I enjoy what I do.

ECWPerth.com: And without a doubt, one of the best wrestlers Australia has to offer right now... Is wrestling in South Australia much different to that which we get a chance to see in Perth?

Jag: Ok, I'll be modest, I dont want to leave a bad impression. Wrestling is SA used to be, yes "used" to be, the greatest place to wrestle in Australia...loyal fans of 600+ used to tear the house down and the atmosphere was astronomical, but unfortunately in the recent year the wrestling here has gone into a slump due to poor promotion and lack of certain wrestlers ability to stick to training. When watching videos of ECW Perth, I am reminded of the good old days when I first began where the crowds were loyal and really into the shows.

ECWPerth.com: I think it's far to say we have some of the best fans in Australian wrestling! Now, for fans who once again don't know, you have been a supporter of Explosive Coastal Wrestling from the very start. Why is that?

Jag: I remember when I first got into wrestling. I wanted nothing more than to become a wrestler. Unfortunately there was nowhere to train, so the only place for me to carry out my dream in the backyard. This was before all the bad media hype. I was emailing everybody over in Melbourne that had something to do with the Australian Wrestling scene, asking to come over and train or do shows... and I told them i was doing backyard wrestling. I would have given anything to go over there and train...all I did was get knocked back and given shit, no one gave me support or offered to help me out. All I heard was, guys like you are ruining our sport...giving wrestling a bad name etc. Lucky for me an old retired wrestler (Col Dervaney) in Adelaide got in contact with us and offered to train us and everything took off from there. But the reason why I have supported you guys from the start is that you want to accomplish your dream, but you were in the kind of situation i was... I knew exactly what it was like to be where you guys were, and instead of turning the other way and slinging shit at you like a lot of people did, I wanted to do all I could do to help you guys out. You showed that you wanted to learn, and that you respected wrestling, unlike the 80% of Australian Wrestlers who dont even deserve to be in the ring.

ECWPerth.com: And everyone involved in ECW truely appreciates your support. Now, a select few of the ECW wrestlers actually came over to you in South Australia and trained for a month on end. What was the like for you, and what do you think it was like for them?

Jag: I tell you what, that time I would class as one of the most enjoyable times of my life. It was a blast. I think that the guys really learnt a lot in that 4 weeks...some people have complained and say that you cant learn wrestling in 4 weeks...that is true...but the guys that came over put in so much effort and they had no time to relax! Maybe once when they went Bowling, but that was about it. They literally went through four weeks of hell to learn the basics of wrestling...and I seriously doubt that there would be many current Australian Wrestlers who could last the four weeks that they did...and if someone thinks otherwise, I beg them to take the course. They walked away with a great sense of accomplishment...and I myself did too...I was glad I could pass on some of my knowledge of wrestling to these guys and help them out. Not only in the process did they learn the basics, but they also helped me out a lot by making me truely love wrestling again, they were an inspiration to me.

ECWPerth.com: You actually worked a match against ECW Champion Davis Storm at a Maximum Power Wrestling show in SA, how did that go for you?

Jag: I enjoyed that match a lot...it was fun to be able to go that one step further and have a match in front of a live crowd while the guys were down here. The crowd seemed to be into the match and Storm worked really well in the ring. I think he would have learnt a lot in that match because everything doesn't go the way it seems! haha

ECWPerth.com: What do you think of Storm... he is perhaps the most hated man in ECW at the moment?

Jag: I can see why. Maybe you need someone to come over there and teach him a lesson in the near future. He has a lot of talent, and it was no surprise to see him become the ECW champ.

ECWPerth.com: That sounds like a great idea! Now, having seen a lot of Explosive Coastal Wrestling, who would you say is your ideal opponent from the group from Perth?

Jag: Justin Sane has tremendous talent and has come a long way since Awakening. I think he had the best match at Evolution... so I think I would pick him as one who I would like to face along with others such as Anda Nothica, Richter, Davis Storm and Jimmy Payne.

ECWPerth.com: Why do you think many people in Australian wrestling actually hated ECW when they first debuted on the scene in November of 2001?

Jag: Who isn't scared of opposition? But I think one of the main concerns was that a lot of the guys had no professional training and in a spot like this you must know what you are doing because things are not what they seem and they have to be done the right way.

ECWPerth.com: What can we expect from Jag in the near future? Maybe a trip to Perth to show our beloved fans how 'extreme' you can be?

Jag: I would love to make a trip down to Perth to watch one of the shows live...I think I would
have a blast... and who knows what can happen in the future. One of my goals at the moment is
to hopefully wrestle overseas in Japan within the next year and I am training hard for that at the
moment.

ECWPerth.com: Best of luck with that! Now if Perth fans want to know more about Jag, and South Australian wrestling, what do they do?

Jag: Well they could always stop by at www.jagandhavok.com , there you will find information on me and South Australian wrestling along with video clips and pictures etc. Also if you have any questions, leave them on the messageboard we have there and I will try to answer them as soon as I can.
