| Will Richter ever fufill his giant potential? |
| Richter is known as Explosive Coastal
Wrestlings 6 foot 4 giant. Most ECW followers have always believed that he would one
day be a force to be reckoned with. We, at ecwperth.com think that day may not be as far
away as most think. Thus far, Richters career has suffered many setbacks. The first huge setback took place at Awakening. Richter under estimated his much smaller opponent, Anda Nothica. He punished Nothica for the majority of this encounter but could not put him away. When the chance presented itself to finish the match Richter preferred to try and cripple Nothica. As history will tell, the temporary break was all Nothica needed to recover and steal the match from under Richters nose. After the disappointment of Awakening, Richter was recruited by Xeriyous Blade to join himself and Azazal as part of the Uprising. Richter accepted, probably hoping that the leadership of Blade would help him to develop in ECW. And all started well, as Azazal and Richter defeated the team of Seth and Shiggins at Redemption. However, things went pear shaped for the big man almost immediately after his first win. Evolution saw him come up against Psychofett in a powerbomb match. Many thought that he would start as a favourite in this match and with Blade at ringside on the night it looked as if Richter would finally taste singles glory. But it was not to be. Just as Richter was in a winning position, Blade ordered him to punish Psychofett. Unfortunately for Richter, this provided Psychofett with a perfect opportunity to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The loss must have left a bitter taste in Richters mouth, but the after match verbal spray from Blade may have had the big man questioning why he joined the Uprising in the first place. Especially as many saw Blade as the only reason Richter lost the match in the first place. That lead to Collision Course. Richter was ordered by the Uprising to defeat Jimmy Payne or be expelled from the Uprising. Richter put forth his strongest performance to that date and possibly had a chance to defeat Payne after a huge chokeslam from the top rope. Just as it looked that a shock win was on the cards, Xeriyous Blade again interjected himself in the match. His interference was Richters undoing once again and Jimmy Payne walked out victorious. The Uprising literally kicked Richter to the curb and welcomed Mikey to the fold. It seemed that Richters career was in serious jeopardy. How would he respond his firing from the Uprising? Instead of being the setback that many expected, Richter has used it as a chance to focus on his true goals. No longer is Richter concerned with merely maiming and hurting people. He wants to succeed in ECW. Thats not to say that he doesnt want to hurt people on the way. Its just that he now seems to realize that he needs to focus on winning if he wants to be taken seriously. He saw the way that the Uprisings obsession with hurting people cost him two very important matches. Richter is now ready to truly make an impact on Explosive Coastal Wrestling. In his own words he is ready to take the ECW Invitational Tournament and then the ECW title. We, at ecwperth.com, believe that these are not hollow threats. Richter possesses many of the tools needed for success here in ECW. His size and strength advantage alone makes him tough for most ECW stars to match up against. In a recent interview with us Richter summed himself up in three words calculating, brutal, and unstoppable. The days of hearing the word potential will soon be over. |
