Are we seeing the calm before the Storm?

Since the day ECW opened its doors, the name Davis Storm has become synonymous with controversy. He has used his wrestling skill and his ability to manipulate almost any situation to his advantage to rise to the top in Explosive Coastal Wrestling. His character has been almost as shady as his wrestling technique is sound. For every perfectly placed dropkick there has been a run in. For every diving headbutt there has been a dirty tactic. He has enjoyed making life a living hell for the rule enforcers in ECW.

So after all the run ins, the cheap shots and the abuse of ECW workers and officials, we have but one question………………..What the hell has changed???

Why is everyone branding Davis Storm as the patron saint of Explosive Coastal Wrestling? Is everyone forgetting all the backstabbings? All of the illegal chair shots? All of the interference? Why is everyone so quick to forget his constant delight in abusing not just Dancin Lukey but many an ECW official?

Before we are bombarded with emails, let me say that we admire what Davis did at Hell or Highwater. He took a stand against Slick Rick and FN Carnage’s careless abuse of the Vagrant. He stood up for what was right and tried to protect what ECW stood for. His actions were admirable.

But WHY??? Where did this humble team playing Davis Storm come from? What happened to the arrogant win at all costs Davis Storm?

Has Storm changed? Can he be trusted? Or is he just setting ECW up to be made even bigger fools of? Is he setting up Jimmy Payne? Or the Vagrant?

Since Hell or Highwater, Storm has already stated that he is unhappy with his treatment from ECW. He doesn’t believe that he should have to fight Justin Sane at Retribution. He doesn’t believe that he should have to fight Sane in order to get the match he wants with Jimmy Payne. He even said that ECW should try and keep him happy. Especially with The Uprising, Slick Rick and Carnage running rampant at the moment.

We here at ecwperth.com are challenging Storm to let us all know what has changed. Why should we trust him? Why should we believe him? I, for one would like to believe that he has changed for the better.
