Many have speculated over Damien’s motivation for the attack. We at ecwperth.com have been trying frantically to get an interview with Damien since the attack but to no avail. Until now. The truth to this matter was more bizarre than you could imagine.

ECWPERTH: Damien Kross, thank you for this chance to finally speak to you.

KROSS: Don’t thank me. I didn’t take this interview on for your benefit.

ECWPERTH: No doubt. Of course we have to start with the obvious, what were you doing sticking your nose into the biggest main event in ECW history?

KROSS: (annoyed) Are you saying that I didn’t deserve to be in the ring with those four?

ECWPERTH: No not at all. But you have had no issues with Davis Storm or Jimmy Payne. If you had interjected yourself into the match between Carnage and Mixer we would have understood, as you have previous history with Carnage. But why that match?

KROSS: I wanted to make an impact. I’m tired of being ignored. Why was I sticking my nose into the main event? Because no one was going to push me there. I wasn’t going to wait any longer for the decision makers to recognize my talent. I have waited too long already. I wasn’t going to wait any longer.

ECWPERTH: Why Storm? Why not attack the champion, Jimmy Payne?

KROSS: It’s not about the title for me. I just want the recognition that I deserve. How long did the ECW management expect me to sit back and take the crap that they had been feeding me? Let me set the record straight right now. My issue with Davis is not personal. I don’t hate Davis Storm. But I am every bit as talented as he is and I just haven’t had the chance to shine yet. Well I will not be denied any longer. I know that Storm will be coming for his shot at me soon. And I will be ready.

ECWPERTH: You are an extremely talented individual Damien and you have been on a role recently? Many people mention the word potential when you are brought up…..

KROSS: (interrupting) That’s the exact kind of crap I’m talking about. Potential…..Do you know what potential means. It means ‘He’ll be great one day’…... ‘He’s going to make it big ONE DAY’. People talk about that one day like it isn’t my time yet. I’m not waiting for that one day to come. I’m making it happen RIGHT NOW! And no one will get in the way of me fulfilling my destiny.

ECWPERTH: Fair enough. You have been on an impressive streak lately. What has been the change for you over the last few months?

KROSS: I’m always worked hard to get to where I wanted to be. But, when Brock Freeman won the Rookie of the Year over me at Re-Awakening, I snapped. That meant that the ECW fans were looking at one of the hardest working talents to enter the ECW ring and they were too ignorant to realize it. What has Brock done in the last 2 events? He blew the invitational tournament final and beat a rookie. What a Rookie of the Year!!

I won a four way that NOONE picked me to win. And I backed that up by beating Psychofett in another match that very few thought I could win. And if you all doubt that I can beat Davis Storm, Just wait and see me prove you all wrong again.

ECWPERTH: You mentioned the ECW management which of course is now The Uprising. Surely your interference has put you in their good books. After all, they set up the match in order for Jimmy Payne to get obliterated and his injuries may well have been a bi-product of your interference in the match.

KROSS: Yes and no. Xeriyous Blade was very upset. He and Storm are old friends and he wasn’t impressed. But Azazal was extremely happy. He told Storm that if he entered himself into the match he would be on the chairman’s bad side. But again, that was not my motivation. I didn’t do this for anyone but myself.

ECWPERTH: Well Damien, this has been an intriguing chat. Any last word?

KROSS: Yeah. To Storm I say this. This isn’t personal. I don’t hate you. My actions are to benefit my career. Not to kill anyone else’s. But you are the example that I will have to make in order for people to take me seriously around here. I will not be denied for any longer. I told you that the mark would be made at your expense and it will be.
