ECWPerth finally talks with Anda Nothica
Anda NothciaWe have interviewed a lot of people here at www.ecwperth.com but one young wrestler we have never had the chance to talk to is Anda Nothica... he's known as ECW's Human Highlight Reel, an amazing athlete that has continued to impress fans Australia wide since ECW's first show in November 2001.

ECWPerth: Anda Nothica, firstly... how does the smallest wrestler in ECW gain respect?

Nothica: I just try to always go out there and do my best with whoever im matching up against. Yeah, you're right, alot of the guys are bigger than me but it doesnt mean I can't out wrestle them. I have ways to outdo even the toughest oppenent and I never EVER back down from a fight.

ECWPerth: This is the first time I can remember anyone sitting down and talking to you? Obviously you let your actions do your talking...

Nothica: Yeah, I'm a quiet sort of guy... I try to keep to myself and stay out of everyone's business. So yeah, for the most part I'll let the moves do the talking for me.

ECWPerth: We are the start of a new year, what does 2003 hold for Anda Nothica?

Nothica: The ECW Championship belt is always on my mind but I think first showing people that Im not a sideshow, or a gimmick just because I'm the smallest wrestler in ECW... In 2003, I will show them that I am worthy of being a champion and wrestling with the best of them in Australia!

ECWPerth: How has the Uprising's hostile takeover of ECW affected you, if at all?

Nothica: Sure it's affected me! I've seen friends of mine taken out at every event lately due to the Uprising's hate of ECW. None of the wrestlers deserve what is happening to them, Shiggins and the Vagrant are all good examples of this. I'm just sorry that I couldn't do more to stop the takeover. The Uprising are strong and although it looks like they are here to stay, soon enough I know that there will be someone to bring them back down to earth.

ECWPerth: You started with ECW since the very beggining and have continued to 'wow' the audience with an amazing display of aerial wrestling? Who are your inspirations?

Nothica: I'd say Matt and Jeff, The Hardy Boyz have got to be one of my biggest inspirations. I've always been in awe of the things they've done and their way of life.. 'Live for the moment or die trying'. Another huge inspiration for me is Rey Mysterio.. always been a huge fan and guess I can I can sort of relate to him being one of the smaller guys.

ECWPerth: I don't think I can ever remember a bad Anda Nothica match... what are some of your favourite matches in ECW?

Nothica: I think my match with Damien Kross sticks in my mind simply because he's one of the toughest men in ECW and to get the win with the debut of the 450 was an amazing feeling. I proved alot of people wrong that night. I also could never forget my TLC match with the Vagrant at Awakening... we went out there and had the crowd popping from start to finish and was great to do something the Hardys are known for.. even though our match wasn't really their calibre, it was still very memorable!

ECWPerth: What about favourite particular moments?

Nothica: I get that feeling everytime I walk through the curtain. As soon as I walk through that curtain, I'm transformed into what feels like another world. It's the greatest feeling to have people stand up and take notice of what your doing, to scream and shout for you and to applaud you when you have given them everything your body can handle. For me there is nothing else like it.

ECWPerth: We have probably seen you hit more amazing moves than anyone in ECW... the Dragon-rana, the 450 splash.. how on earth do your practise and perfect these high risk moves?

Nothica: It takes alot of practise and I guess guts to be able to perform some of the moves. Ill practise some of the moves I do over and over again until I get them. I didnt just go climb the top rope one day and say yeah this is gonna take me a couple of trys to do. I also attend gymnastics classes which help out alot.

ECWPerth: Do you have a dream match in ECW... anyone you'd really like to wrestle, or wrestle again?

Nothica: My dream match in ECW would have to be a TLC match, with the Uprising's very own Mikey. We have a similar sort of style and I think there is an unlimited amount of things we could do in a match of that kind. Hopefully, one day that dream can become a reality. I wanna show him a little 'Death from Above'...

ECWPerth: Finally... Nothica.. any last words to the fans who support you?

Nothica: I would like to take the oppurtunity to thank all the fans who support me. As I said earlier, I'm a quiet sort of person so I dont chat and thank the fans as often as I should. Without the fans cheering me on, I don't think I would be able to perform some of the moves I do and get the wins I have.

ECWPerth: And the wrestler's in the locker room...

Nothica: I just wanna point out the wrestlers who have nothing but words to say to me... remeber that it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog.. and there's a hell of a lot of fight left from Anda Nothica!

ECWPerth: Anda Nothica, thanks for one of the best sitdown interviews we've ever had... look forward to see you in your next match at The Uprising, February 22nd!
