This
is the second part of what will be a three part series examining all the matches that will
take place at Evil Intentions. Of course, Evil Intentions will take place at the Margaret
Cockman Pavilion in Wanneroo on April 12th 2003. This event is shaping up to be a great
event and should not be missed. In the first Evil Intentions update, we looked at Mixer
versus Azazal and Richter versus Jamie Jurah. We will now dissect three of the other
matches on the card, including the highly explosive, Chair on a Pole match, featuring Brad
West and Mikey.
PSYCHOFETT v The Playboy DEVLIN REEVES
This match certainly shapes up to be one of
the most entertaining bouts taking place at Evil Intentions. This could be touted as the
battle of two of Explosive Coastal Wrestlings most bizarre characters.
Psychofett is a cult hero in ECW. His antics have been some of the highlights of many a
show. Some of his greatest hits include his STOP/LOOK routine, his extremely
strange dancing/spinarooni attempts and, perhaps most famously, the KFC incident. No
matter what he has done for entertainment value, there can be no denying that Psychofett
is a much-improved wrestler. His performances have steadily improved with every event. The
last two events have seen him take Damien Kross and F.N. Carnage to their limits. Against
Carnage, it took the interference of Jamie Jurah to put Psychofett away for the three
count.
Devlin Reeves was the first new wrestler to
debut in Explosive Coastal Wrestling in 2003. And his debut certainly wont be
forgotten any time soon. He put up a great fight against Brock Freeman but that
wasnt what caught everyones attention. This young man certainly appeared to
think that he was gods gift to women. After just two matches, we have a list of
Devlins greatest hits too. Among them his mid match groin thrusts at various crowd
members, his inability to enter the ring without making a clown out of himself, his
constant bicep posing and his carrying of womens underwear in his own wrestling
tights. But his skills have been quite solid and he has shown that he has been well
trained.
ANALYSIS: This seems like a bit of a mismatch on paper. Psychofetts antics seem to
be designed to distract his opponents, where as Devlin appears to distract himself from
the task of defeating his opponent. But maybe Reeves peculiarities will work in his
favour for once. Will Psychofett know how to deal with someone who is every bit as bizarre
as he is? Only time will tell.
Non-Title Match
JIMMY PAYNE v ?????????
Its very hard to comment on this match when we have no idea who Jimmy will be facing
in this match. What we do know is that Azazal has declared that this will be a non-title
match. Exactly why the chairman has done this is not clear but he always seems to have a
reason for his action. We asked Azazal who the opponent would be. He answer left us no
closer to the truth. What makes you think that Ive even selected
an opponent yet?!! Whoever it is will be well aware of the task that I want carried out in
this match, he commented. Lets look at who could be a possible adversary in
this bout.
The self-proclaimed King of the Piledriver F.N. Carnage has to be the
strongest candidate for two reasons. 1) He is the number one contender by virtue of his
win in the ECW Invitational Tournament at Re-Awakening and 2) He has no match at Evil
Intentions at this stage. Reason number one also serves as grounds for him not to take
this match. Why would the number one accept a non-title match? I think that the only
reason would be to try and gain a psychological edge over Jimmy Payne before a possible
title match. There is also the chance that Carnage could go into the match and not worry
about winning or losing. He could use the match as a chance to try and spot a weakness in
Mr Anarchys armour. As these two have never done battle in an ECW ring
it would be a strong plan of attack indeed.
What other options are there though? Of course there is the chance that Azazal has used
the prospect of an ECW contract to entice an uncontracted wrestler to try and take out
Jimmy Payne. This is a win-win situation for Azazal. If they manage to hurt Jimmy Payne,
then the task of taking the title from him will be easier. However, if Jimmy destroys the
unknown wrestler, Azazal will have lost nothing. The first name of possibles would have to
include the three losers from the trainee match at The Uprising. Shane Haste, Kiel E. and
BobbyBadBlood would surely jump at the chance to prove themselves again.
And speaking of the trainee match, what about Chris Lazareth, the winner of the ECW
contract at the last event? Or, Anda Nothica, who also doesnt have a match? Or
Xeriyous Blade, the leader of The Uprising?
ANALYSIS: I wasnt too sure of who it would be until I started to write this article.
The more I wrote, the more I became convinced that F.N. Carnage would be the man here.
That certainly doesnt mean that I am certain. But whoever it turns out to be, I have
to back the ECW champion. Jimmy has managed to overcome the odds this year. Jimmy defended
the belt against Mikey with injured ribs and The Uprising at ringside. If he can beat
those odds I dont know how anyone is going to beat him, belt on the line or not.
Chair on a Pole Match
MIKEY v BRAD WEST
This match has the longest running history
of any of the matches that will take place on April 12th. Brad West first raised the ire
of Mikey by trying to help out The Vagrant at Re-Awakening. Since then Mikey has been
obsessed with gaining a measure of revenge on Brad. This leads us to April 12th and the
Chair on a Pole Match.
Brad Wests career had been marked Work in Progress for some time. Brad
had an unusual introduction to ECW by facing then ECW champion Davis Storm for the title
on his very first night in Explosive Coastal Wrestling. After such a strange introduction,
it seemed that Brad struggled to settle into ECW. He was improving with every match but
was failing to come through with victories. Re-Awakening was a turning point for two
reasons. Firstly Brad gained his first victory. And secondly, he gained the unwanted
attention of Mikey and The Uprising. During the Vagrant versus Azazal match, Brad came
down to ringside to try and stop The Uprising from getting involved in the match.
Unfortunately, Brad was unsuccessful in negating the effect of The Uprising on the match.
Brad let The Uprising know that he wasnt running from them, as he volunteered to be
Shiggins tag team partner at The Mark Has Been Made. Again, the numbers got the better of
Brad and Shiggins and The Uprising left with the win.
Mikeys obsession with Brad is quite simple. Mikey has wiped almost every name off
his hit list, which is on his chair that he carries. He has had four opportunities to
strike Brad with the chair, and every time Brad has managed to escape from harms
way. The first three chair shots missed completely but the fourth almost cost Brock
Freeman his head. Brad may have ducked but Brock didnt and he paid the price. There
can be no doubt that Brad was the intended target of the vicious chair shot. Mikey will
seemingly never rest until every name is rubbed off that list. This match provides him
with the chance to get one step closer.
ANALYSIS: Has Brad bitten off more than he can chew? Mikey is one of ECWs elite and
is determined to ensure that Brad does not leave Evil Intentions with his head intact. He
seemed more upset that he missed West with his chairshot at the last event, than he did by
losing the title match to Jimmy Payne. Brad does not seem intimidated by Mikey or The
Uprising. He has stepped up to this battle without any hesitation. He seems to be going
into this match with a cool clear head, something that Mikey is clearly lacking at the
moment. This may be Brads chance to make a huge move up in
ECW
.or he may just wind up being another hit on Mikeys ever
growing list. (PS Watch out Richter. You are the only other name left on that chair)
