| ECWPerth.com: Fans, in this
holiday season, many of the ECW wrestlers have been able given us some of their time to
conduct some much anticipated interviews. And now, the long awaited interview with the
'Old School Soldier' himself, the man simply called Shiggins... Shiggins: Hey man... how are you today? ECWPerth.com: I'm very well Shiggins.. and yourself? Shiggins: Yeah.. yeah.. rockin on I guess! ECWPerth.com: Now Shigs, straight to the point... the question on everyone's lips... what sort of music do you like??? No.. but seriously... Shiggins: (interrupting) But... I want to answer it? ECWPerth.com: Feel free... Shiggins: Any good heavy music mate. I'm a huge 'Gunners' fan, and Metallica are also good in my opinion. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and the list goes on... I'm also currently into In Flames, a Swedish metal band.. oh, and System rock too! ECWPerth.com: Right... so, if I could now ask.. what is your background in wrestling? How did you make it to Explosive Coastal Wrestling? Shiggins: It's almost taboo for me to say it, but I started in the backyard. I worked my arse off in the XBW for two years just doing what I loved. Whether it's wrestling infront of 300 fans at Awakening, or ten of my friends in a dodgy backyard, you know you're going to get everything Shiggins has to give. Anyway, soon ECW was developed and I was lucky enough to be apart of the tournament at Awakening and now Explosive Coastal Wrestling itself! ECWPerth.com: And now that you are apart of Explosive Coastal Wrestling, what do you plan on achieving? Shiggins: I think it's every wrestler's aim in ECW to be the Champion. I want it.. and I'm willing to work for it. But short term, I wouldn't mind seeing the introduction of some tag straps to tie around my waste instead of this flannelette shirt! ECWPerth.com: Now Shiggins... what is your thoughts on ECW's next event, Redemption? Shiggins: My thoughts on Redemption are very simple. The event looks pretty damn good on paper and I am sure it will look even better in the ring. The first tag match in ECW history will be held... also a three-way dance for the ECW title and that's not all. It should be one to remember for the 'Old School Soldier'... ECWPerth.com: It sure will... you touched on the three-way dance for the ECW title... it has been the talking point for ECW for weeks now.. what is your opinion on the ECW title situation? Should Storm have been stripped of the belt, and what do you see happening at Redemption? Shiggins: Believe it or not, I think Storm should not have been stripped of the belt... I would of rather of seen him get the shit kicked out of him by someone Like Jimmy Payne or even me... and then lose the belt. I spoke to Jimmy not long ago and he looks very confident... I'm sure he will come out on top over Whiplash and Carnage. Speaking of Carnage, I wouldn't be surprised if he won it either. He surely did prove himself at Awakening. As for Mikey, if he loses that ego and stops taunting the fans every second, you never know what could happen... it's all up in the air now... like the crowd surfers at a Guns and Roses concert!! Yeah!!! Rock on! ECWPerth.com: Ha ha... just winding down because we are running out of time... do you have a message for Australian wrestling? Shiggins: I sure do... Pro-Wrestling is
getting bigger and bigger in Australia and luckily enough Perth fans finally have some
good local stuff to see. ECW Perth will deliver to the fans and I hope Australia will
support us on the way to the top. |
